Bowditch Ford is currently seeking an experienced Automotive Sales Associate; Ford experience would be a plus! Responsibilities

  • Greet and guide customer as they appear on the lot to proceed into the sales process
  • Assist the customers to find a vehicle that meets their needs by using the current inventory information
  • Enhance the sales process by demonstrating the vehicles features on the lot
  • Assist customers in the completion of their sales applications
  • Assist management to increase sales by inspecting the lot's vehicles daily, reporting any problems to management
  • Assist management in ensuring the lot is merchandised correctly to maximize sales
Qualifications

  • Enthusiastic with high energy throughout the sales workday
  • Outgoing and friendly, especially while handling objections
  • Quality customer service skills and sales track record
  • Strong interpersonal and communications, in-person and over the phone
  • Persuasive and able to overcome customer objections during the sales process
  • Proficient in basic business math including percentages
  • Capable of learning and using Microsoft Office and proprietary sales programs
  • Persistent, competitive and good work ethic
  • Focus on the customer's needs to enhance dealership and personal sales

Automotive Service Advisor

Full job description

At Bowditch Ford our Service Advisors are the center of communication for all service and repair activities within the Service Department. Being the primary point of contact for all automotive service and repair matters, the Service Advisor must listen to and thoroughly understand each and every customer's concerns and arrange for appropriate service/repairs. Once completed, you will also relay all necessary information from the technician to the customer clearly and effectively. Here, Service Advisors make sure the customer knows what repairs are needed and what repairs and maintenance are recommended.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, some post-secondary automotive training or experience, at least one year of dealer-level or large facility experience, an unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record, and a strong technical and customer service performance record. Candidates must be able to work productively in a fast-paced team environment and must have a positive attitude, professional appearance, great communication skills, and the ability to deliver world-class customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Schedules service for customers either in person or on the phone to ensure prompt and accurate diagnosis of any problems
  • Makes repair recommendations and manages the delivery of repairs by setting and managing customer expectations
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Complies with and enforces all safety policies and procedures
  • Attends all staff meetings, training, and educational classes as required to educate/train new staff members
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Post-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experience
  • One year of dealer-level or large facility experience preferred

Essential Duties:

  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • At least 2 years of automotive management and automotive customer service experience.

Automotive Controller

Full job description

Bowditch Ford is looking to grow the team! The Controller processes and generates financial data for all dealership departments, which together represent the accurate financial condition of the business. He or she provides accurate reporting to the dealer/general manager and is responsible for accounting office and administrative functions. During the course of business, he or she must maintain a very positive and "can-do" attitude. Automotive Industry experience is a MUST!!!

Essential Duties:
  • Prepares a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and the manufacturer's format and time frame
  • Controls all posted documents, including time records, vehicle deals, commissions, and additions and changes to inventory
  • Prepares daily bank deposit and cash report
  • Maintains an effective cash management system. Forecasts cash needs
  • Provides a timely daily operating control (DOC) and keeps the dealer/general manager informed about trends
  • Reconciles select accounts monthly
  • Approves adjustments to inventory and receivable accounts
  • Ensures that all manufacturer accounts including warranty claims, rebates, interest, protection, and co-op advertising accounts are current and accurate
  • Prints monthly journals, schedules, and general ledger. Closes month by processing accounting month-end
  • Assists in completion of annual review/audit
  • Administers charge-back program for late charges to inventory
  • Prepares monthly floor plan report for use in commission calculations
  • Hires, trains, and supervises office personnel
  • Analyzes and organizes office operations and procedures
  • Prepares sales commissions/chargeback detail reports
  • Manages the payoff of vehicles floor plan and works with bank representativesReviews new charge accounts and oversees collection of past due accounts
  • Compiles information and prepares reports as requested by management and/or dealer principal
  • Maintains a professional appearance
  • Attends manager's meeting as requested
  • Other duties may be assigned
Marginal Duties:
  • Controls petty cash amounts for dealership and sales department
  • Participates in the preparation of short and long-term forecasts
  • Ensures compliance with all government regulations
  • Stays abreast of current factory incentives and codes deliveries on dealership computer system accordingly
  • Cross-trains a qualified substitute
  • Keeps an updated file of all dealership job descriptions
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervises 3 to 5 employees in the administrative department
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
