Most Escape models utilize a turbocharged 1.5-liter 181 horsepower three-cylinder engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Though this engine can be swapped for a 2.5-liter 200-hp hybrid powertrain if drivers wish. And for ultimate power, the SEL and Titanium trims have a turbocharged 2.0-liter 250-hp four-cylinder engine. Front- or all-wheel drive is available with the three-cylinder and hybrid powertrains, while AWD is offered for the turbo-four-cylinder engine.
Technology
The Ford Escape offers plenty of technology throughout its various trims. Standard features include a height-adjustable driver's seat, a six-speaker sound system, and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot.
